As we enter this lovely new year, I am heading into the intermission of my adventures in China. In just one week, I will return to the states, hopefully an improved violinists and with my eyes opened a little wider to the state of the world. I thought a good resolution for the year would be to practice every day and really focus on the violin. And then I realized that would be extremely silly because I do that already. So I'm still trying to figure out a good resolution...any ideas?
Things have been busy here, last week and the coming week have been and will be some of the craziest/busiest days of my life thus far. On Wednesday, I had my final exams for my string quartet (though we are staying together for next semester) and my piano trio (unfortunately not staying together as our cellist must fly home to Germany for good next month). Thursday was the last of the practice exams for Mr. He's studio and Monday morning will see me at my technical exam (AHH!). There will also be an orchestra concert on Monday evening, with Chinese exams to follow on Tuesday and Wednesday...but then...then I'm done. After that, I will just have a lot of "goodbye's" and "see you later's" to say before I fly home on the 10th.
All I can say is that it has been a great first semester. The next time you hear from me will probably find us in one single time zone, or no more than 3 hours apart! Now, I have to go practice!
